Anti Dopping

>> For the revised Anti-Doping code please refer to the "Announcements 13/1/2009"<< or the WMA link http://european-masters-athletics.org/files/anti-doping_rules-2009.pdf

The Greek Veteran Athletes (GVA) strongly endorses the anti-doping policies fostered by the governing boddies of the European and World Master's Associations (EVAA and WMA ).
GVAA intents to keep masters' athletics clean from drugs. Drug abuse is not accepted and anyone caught with banned substances will be suspended.<
The link   Anti-Doping-Declaration is now available    and will provide you with an EVAA  pdf-document. This is for all Veterans to read/accept as part of the Veteran's sport participation world-wide.
In short the Veteran athlete will declare & affirm the following:

  1. abstain from any illegal performance enhancement, specifically by way of doping,
  2. support anything that prevents the use of unintended or extraneous doping medication,
  3. do whatever possible to actively support the struggle against doping,
  4. acceptance of any unannounced doping test controls external of competitions (“training test controls”).

Use of drugs: Athletes using medical drugs must apply to have approval to avoid suspension for drug abuse. Both, EVAA and WMA grant such approval (certificate of approval for Therapeutic use). Also application forms submitted for events such as European or World champinships include specific instructions that may also apply.

Applications for “Therapeutic Use Exemptions” must be made on the official forms:(in English or French):

  1. TUE standard application form (national or international) - shall be used for the use of any medical drug or method on the official list of prohibited substances.
  2. TUE abbreviated application form (international) - shall be used for the use of inhalable medical drugs like formoterol, salbutamol, salmeterol or terbutalin and glucocrticosteroids which are administered locally and intracapsularly.

The “TUE Application” must be submitted at least 21 days before the first day of the international competition/championship in which the athlete wishes to compete using the prohibited substance.
